Following a career that began in Culinary, John became an award-winning chef for several years before crossing over as Director of Restaurants, Director of Food & Beverage and Director of Operations for Marriott International.  He assumed the role of Regional Vice President of Operations, prior to becoming a two-time General Manager overseeing several branded hotels.   He has extensive strength in all aspects of Food & Beverage from talent to restaurant concepts. Most recently, he was the General Manager/ COO for a luxury Key Biscayne club establishing a Five Palm Culture and long-range strategic plan., as the owner and president of JMC&C, Inc., he assesses businesses current state and provides tailored game plans to increase their business evaluations and long-term returns.   John’s forte is process management and operations problem solving.

John earned a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Massachusetts.  Upon departing Marriott he was a full time professor at Florida International University instructing leadership, revenue management and business case evaluation at the Graduate level.   He is on the Executive Committee for the Greater Miami and The Beaches Hotel Association, including the Miami Sports Commission.  He is an active member in the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association including the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.   Additionally, John is the Managing Director for CXO, a private equity group.
